We are committed to reducing our chemical and carbon footprints and revitalising the soil upon which our avocados grow. We follow an integrated pest management system and regenerative farming practices that harness the power of nature, including the use of beneficial predator insects to control pests and organic fertilisers to nourish the soil. By working with natural processes rather than against them, we protect biodiversity, enhance soil health, and create a resilient ecosystem that supports thriving avocado trees year after year. Our approach ensures that every fruit we grow is produced responsibly, with minimal environmental impact and a focus on long-term sustainability for the island and the community we call home.
Belejoma Orchard is situated on Motiti Island, in the picturesque Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Motiti Island enjoys a unique micro-climate ideal for avocados that allows us to specialise in early-season, irrigation-free production.
